Welcome to the author page of Nigel Watson
I became interested in UFOs during the Apollo moon landing missions in the late 1960s. The writings of John Keel and the magazines Flying Saucer Review,
Fortean Times and Magonia were my biggest influences in subsequent years.
Unlike most people I have become more sceptical about the reality of UFO sightings, this led me to take a degree in psychology. In the 1970s I
investigated many high strangeness UFO cases that were reported in Northern England, and this research became the basis of my book 'Portraits of Alien
Encounters'. The influences of popular culture on UFO reports has always interested me and this partly made me decide to take a degree in Film and
Literature at the University of Warwick. I have also been interested in the historical aspects of ufology and have written extensively on the subject of
the phantom airships seen in the late 19th Century and early decades of the 20th Century. I am currently researching the subject of alien abductions. I
worked in London as a copywriter for 9 years. I now live in Plymouth and work as a freelance writer.
