I have been fascinated by food and cooking since I can remember. Some of my fondest memories are of sitting in the kitchen watching my gran make her special dishes. Her love of cooking inspired me to try to be half the cook she was. My great-aunts were also great cooks and the love of cooking and eating run deep in this Louisiana family.

We have traveled in the states and in the Caribbean, and Mexico. Wherever we travel, I collect recipes to bring home and experiment with until they seem the same as the originals we tried while away. The foods of Louisiana fascinate me the most because of the diverse mix of foods and cultures.

I'm not always in the kitchen however. I work as a freelance graphic artist; I also do promotions and publicity and am a web designer. I will brag a little and say that I have won several promotion contests.

With all my spare time I enjoy reading or crocheting. But sometimes I just like to get down and dirty. That's when you will find me in the garden puttering around with my plants or happily splashing paint on canvas. Or should I just say I love to garden and paint to relax? I also have many friends I love to visit with, both real time and web friends.
