  Hello!     Thanks for stopping by.

I've had a passion for writing since I was knee high to a grasshopper and able to do something more with my crayons than just stay inside the lines while coloring. It wasn't until after being diagnosed with cancer and having undergone treatment that I finally decided to pursue writing with a real passion and purpose. My passion built upon the burning desire to help others who are facing a serious life challenge by sharing what I have experienced and learned as I've walked and struggled along my own path.

I truly hope you will enjoy my particular style of writing because I write based upon how and what I feel, sharing my emotions while attempting to provide you with information, thoughts and ideas in a personal way that I hope you can and will relate with. At the least I hope to be able to provide the opportunity to perhaps see life's challenges from a different perspective as well as offering suggestions on ways to see or turn negative perspectives in to positive ones.

After a number of years of missed diagnosis, I was conclusively diagnosed with terminal Multiple Myeloma cancer in 1997 and told that I had less than one year to live. I decided upon taking a very aggressive approach with my cancer treatment which included: local radiation, conditioning chemotherapy, high dose chemotherapy, whole body radiation, an Autologous Pheriphal Stem Cell Transplant and participation in a cancer Vaccination Clinical Trial.

Released from the Hospital in November 1998, I have remained in remission and live a reasonably comfortable lifestyle that is a somewhat slower pace than pre-diagnosis yet reasonably active. Every day is spent enjoying not only my life but also all that this wonderful world has to offer and is so often taken for granted.

Prior to being diagnosed with cancer, I had been an International Business Consultant involved with humanitarian and charitable efforts globally for over sixteen years. During that time, I traveled extensively, met and developed friendships with people from all walks of life and all segments of society, while helping to promote equality among all and striving to develop an achievable basic quality of life for all people.

Astrologically being a Gemini, I'm 49 years young, divorced twice, live with my wonderful companions Koko and Choo Choo - two beautiful, pure white, young female Tonkineese cats, and reside in a comfortable Apartment in the small rural Town of Dexter, Michigan.

Cooking is a favorite passion of mine, something my mother taught me at an early age and I can be found searching for new recipes more often than not. Enjoy just about anything and everything in the out doors with the exception of hunting since I can't bring myself to kill or hurt another living creature. Still enjoy dancing, although I leave the wild stuff to others these days. An avid photographer, always looking for new subjects. Enjoy golf, fishing, camping and canoeing as favorite things to do.

Since my transplant and very successful remission, I have spent considerable time talking and sharing with other cancer survivors, especially newly diagnosed individuals who are looking for someone who has been through it all and understands the fear and confusion they feel. In many instances I have been asked by Oncologists and Hematologists to speak with their cancer patients, to offer them hope, as evidence that it is possible to survive cancer as well as being someone with whom they can relate.

I particularly enjoy public speaking and seldom turn down an offer to speak to any size group about cancer, surviving life's challenges, maintaining a positive attitude and living life to the fullest.

In 2001 I realized a personal goal by establishing the first Internationally recognized Multiple Myeloma Cancer Support Group in Brighton, Michigan which I also facilitate as the founder. Although it was originally established for the benefit of Multiple Myeloma survivors and their caregivers, it is open to anyone with cancer, their friends, family and anyone interested in learning more or wanting to something to help, about cancer.

Please watch for my next guides to be published very soon, on subjects such as the Transplant experience, eating and Nutrition, Dealing with Depression, the Importance of Communication, How to maintain a Positive Outlook, Determining what Treatment is Best for You, a Caregivers Guide, Frequently Asked Questions, and more!

I always welcome and invite anyone to contact and write to me, so please don't hesitate to drop me a line. Your questions, feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to hear from you.
